CLUB COMPETITION INFORMATION SHEET

We would like to invite your daughter to take part in our annual club competition on Sunday 29th June.  This event is open to all Recreational and Intermediate children, as well as to some of our development groups (FTS).

Here is a little bit of information about the event;

  • Recreational children will compete in age groups and will perform a set floor routine and basic vault.
  • Intermediate children will follow the County and Regional General Gymnastics rules, where they can compete on all 4 pieces of apparatus or their chosen pieces only and will also be placed into age groups.

Please note that all age categories are formed with the age that the child turns in 2025  i.e. a child born on July 12th 2016 would be placed in an age group for 9 year olds.

  • Each child will receive a rosette.  There are also medals for the top 3 in each age group category across the day.

Our team of coaches will start working the elements and routines for this event, with all classes in May.  The skills – both physically and psychologically – add another dimension to your daughters training.  Therefore, in the early stages of preparation, all gymnasts will work towards this (irrespective of whether they will eventually take part in the competition).

ALL the girls are given lots of help and encouragement on the day so do not need to remember the routines (although we will get some demonstration videos up on the TNAG Facebook group for the recreational routines soon).  It is a fun event and all ages and levels are encouraged to enter!

On the day itself, competition is usually split into 2-3 rounds and the programme for the day will become available after the closing date has passed.  This will be emailed out and available to view within the gym – so please keep an eye out for this.

The Norfolk Academy of Gymnastics

We are proud to welcome you to the Norfolk Academy of Gymnastics.  Opened in 2008, the Academy has quickly established itself as a leading centre for gymnastics at recreational and competitive levels.

GYMNASTICS FOR EVERYBODY

We believe that gymnastics has something to offer everyone; from toddlers, school-aged boys and girls and teenagers.  Click here to learn more about our different classes. It is a sport which can be enjoyed just for fun, for physical exercise or at a serious competitive level. For girls that do have the ability and desire to reach a high level, we have a proven track record in our short history of producing numerous county and regional champions and several national squad members. Each pupil at the Norfolk Academy is valued equally, irrespective of the level at which they participate.

OUR VISION

“To develop and sustain a gymnastics academy in which every child has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.”

OUR CLUB PRIORITIES

“The physical, mental and emotional health, happiness and well-being of each individual participant”

“To build great people”

“To build great gymnasts”

In that order!

DEDICATED TRAINING FROM QUALIFIED COACHES

All of our coaches are qualified to British Gymnastics standards and have undergone enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks. We operate in accordance with British Gymnastics’ Equality and Health, Safety and Welfare policies. Our coaches also receive additional in house training in the TNAG teaching philosophy – which is to give each and every pupil a safe and fun learning experience appropriate to the level of their physical ability and their own wishes and desires.

PURPOSE BUILT GYMNASIUM

TNAG operates from a purpose-designed gymnastics centre just minutes from the A11 between Wymondham and Attleborough and only 12 miles from Norwich. It is the only dedicated gymnastics facility in the Breckland and South Norfolk areas. Our gymnasium is equipped with top of the range specialist gymnastics equipment including special soft play and age-appropriate equipment for our Tiger Tots pre-school classes.

Parties

A TNAG birthday party is the perfect way for your child to celebrate their birthday in style. Parties are available in either structured or unstructured format – for structured parties qualified coaches run the session which will consist of tutor-led games and activities on the equipment, for unstructured parties a qualified coach is on hand to supervise but the choice of activities is down to you.

The price includes one hour of time in the gym and 45 minutes for cake and party games in the viewing gallery afterwards.

You will need to supply one adult for every 8 children who will remain present for the duration of the party (or one adult for every 4 children aged 4 or under). Attire suitable for gymnastic activity should be worn – no jewellery and long hair tied back.

Party slots are generally on Saturday evenings and Sundays although week-time slots are sometimes available – call or email for details.
